Five steps, no surprises. Most of the work happens before install day — the on-site quote is where we figure out what your glass actually needs, and that is the part that determines whether you like the result.
Free on-site quote
A local Sleek rep comes to the property, measures every window that matters, and looks at the exposures with you — which rooms cook in the afternoon, which glass faces a neighbour, which panes are single-pane or already showing a failed seal. You get a firm number on the spot. No fee, no obligation, and nothing gets ordered until you say go.
Film selection with samples in hand
We bring physical samples and hold them against your own glass in your own light. Spec sheets are useful, but nobody has ever loved a film because of its TSER number — you want to see what the room looks like through it. This is also where we talk honestly about which panes should get a different product, or none at all.
Scheduling around you
Most homes are booked within a week or two and finished in 1–2 day. Commercial jobs get phased by floor or elevation so no tenant loses use of a space for a full day. You pick the window; we show up in it.
Install day
The crew protects the floors and sills, deep-cleans and scrapes each pane, and cuts the film to the glass. Every window is squeegeed out and the edges are trimmed tight. We work room by room, clean up as we go, and walk every window with you before we leave.
Cure and the lifetime warranty
Film needs a few days to fully cure. Some haze or tiny water pockets in the first week are normal and clear on their own — do not touch them and do not wash the glass for 30 days. After that it is just glass, covered by the Sleek Promise for as long as you own the window.
What install day looks like at home
Plan on the crew needing clear access to about three feet in front of each window. Blinds and curtains come down — we can do it, but it is faster if they are already off. Move breakables off the sills; leave the furniture, we will shift what needs shifting and put it back.
You do not need to leave the house. There is no strong smell and no dust; the messiest part is soapy water, which is why we tarp the sills and floor. Pets are fine as long as they can be kept out of the room being worked.
What it looks like in a commercial building
For offices, clinics, retail and multi-site portfolios we work off a schedule built around your operations rather than ours. That usually means phasing by elevation — the west face first, since that is where the heat complaints come from — and working evenings or weekends where tenants cannot lose daytime access.
Property managers get a single point of contact, one quote covering every building in scope, and consistent film across the portfolio so the facade reads uniform from the street. Multi-site work is priced per square foot with volume built in.
Commercial security and safety film is the most common request, usually paired with solar control on the sun-exposed faces.
Cure time and the first month
Film is applied wet. As the mounting solution evaporates through the film, the adhesive reaches full bond — that takes a few days in summer heat and up to a few weeks in cold weather. During that period small water pockets or a faint haze are normal and will disappear on their own.
- Do not wash the treated glass for 30 days
- Do not press, poke or squeegee water pockets — they resolve as they dry
- After curing, clean with a soft cloth and any ammonia-free glass cleaner
- Never use abrasive pads, razor blades or ammonia-based products on film
