What the warranty covers

Every film we install is covered for as long as you own the window it is applied to. That coverage includes both the material and our labor, which is the part most warranties quietly leave out — a film warranty that replaces the roll but bills you to install it is not much of a warranty.

  • Bubbling, blistering or air pockets appearing after the install has cured
  • Peeling or lifting at the edges and seams
  • Delamination between the layers of the film
  • Discolouration, hazing or a purple shift in the tint
  • Adhesive failure and crazing
  • Loss of the rated UV rejection performance

If any of those show up, call (801) 769-0975 or email info@sleektint.com. We schedule a visit, confirm the cause, and re-do the affected glass at no charge.

What it does not cover

It is a manufacturing and workmanship warranty, not an insurance policy. Damage caused after the fact is outside it: scratches from a razor blade or an abrasive pad, damage from ammonia-based cleaners, impact damage, pressure washing directly against the film, and glass that was already cracked or failing when we arrived.

We also will not install film on a pane we believe is at real thermal-stress risk without telling you first. If a window has a pre-existing seal failure, a visible crack or an unusual construction, we flag it at the quote and either recommend a different film for that pane or leave it alone.

The optional glass breakage add-on

Applying film changes how a pane absorbs and sheds heat. On the vast majority of windows that is a non-event, but thermal stress cracks are a real, if rare, possibility on certain older or oddly shaped glass. For complete peace of mind we offer an optional glass breakage protection add-on that covers the windows themselves in the rare event a thermal stress crack appears after installation.

It is a small additional cost quoted alongside the film, and it is entirely your call. Ask about it during the on-site estimate and we will tell you honestly whether we think your glass warrants it.

Why we can offer it

Two reasons, and neither is marketing. First, we install manufacturer-backed premium film rather than the cheapest roll available, so the material itself carries a real factory warranty behind ours. Second, precision is one of the four things we do not compromise on — clean edges, tight seams, controlled environment, correct cure time. Most film failures are install failures, and the way to make a lifetime warranty affordable is to not need it very often.

Figures are industry-typical ranges for solar and Low-E window film, not a guarantee for your specific home. Actual savings depend on window orientation, existing glass, and local energy rates.

Care & warranty

Living with the film.

What does the lifetime warranty cover?
Both the film and our labor, for as long as you own the property. That covers bubbling, peeling, cracking, delamination and colour change. If any of it happens, we come back and redo the affected glass at no cost. The warranty is written and you get a copy on completion, not a verbal assurance.
How do I clean filmed windows?
Wait about 30 days after installation for the film to fully cure, then clean normally with a soft cloth or squeegee and any non-abrasive glass cleaner. Avoid ammonia-heavy products, scrub pads and blades. That is the whole maintenance routine — there is nothing to reapply or top up.
Can film crack my glass?
Adding film changes how a pane absorbs and sheds heat, so on the wrong glass type it can raise thermal stress. That is why we identify your glass at the quote and specify a film rated for it, and why we will decline a specific pane rather than take the job and hope. We also offer an optional glass breakage protection add-on that covers your windows in the rare event thermal stress causes a crack after installation.
How long does window film last?
Quality film on residential glass typically performs for 15 to 20 years or more, and our warranty runs for as long as you own the property rather than a fixed term. What kills cheap film early is dye-based construction that fades to purple; the films we install use metallised and ceramic constructions that do not.
