Reflected light off the Great Salt Lake

For the last hour or two before sunset, west-facing Layton windows get direct sun plus a second dose bouncing off the lake surface. The reflected component arrives at an even lower angle than the direct light, which puts it under overhangs and awnings and straight into the room at eye level.

Homeowners describe it as a wall of white rather than a bright spot.
